UK retailer prices and dates 8GB OmniaHD

Samsung Omnia HDOne of the biggest UK online retailers, play.com, has listed the 8GB version of the Omnia HD for a very reasonable non-sim price of £529.99 ($760/€570). Given that the non-sim price of the 3G iPhone is £599.99, the price looks competitive, especially considering its feature set. Whilst the 16GB version is listed, no price has been set so far.

Play.com also expects the unit to arrive in late May with a release date of 25th May 2009. Now it’s worth taking that date with a pinch of salt, as play has been wrong in the past regarding launch dates. I’m hoping for sooner rather than later!
