Pixmania UK selling sim-free i8910 Omnia HD for £399
Posted by soHD in News, tags: Pixmania
For those of you looking to purchase a sim-free i8910 Omnia HD in the UK, you may want to head over to Pixmania. They are selling the handset for a bargain-tastic price of just £399 excluding delivery, by far the cheapest price I’ve seen it. The i8910 HD is currently in stock on their website.
As a guide, Play.com has the handset listed for £529.99 whilst Expansys are pricing it at £599.99. However, you’d better hurry as the deal will only last until 11pm Monday 6th July, judging by the timer that’s running on the product page.
I’ve personally not used Pixmania before and have heard mixed reviews about their service. The listing points to the phone running Windows Mobile 6.1, so it’s not the most up to date product page. Also, the phone may not be official UK specification as often Pixmania sources some stock from within mainland Europe. However, for that price, it’s surely worth considering.
Thanks andyd!

I’ve ordered one just now. The specs state it includes a French Manual so suspect this is a batch of French stock that has somehow made its way into the UK for sale.

I’ll report back here if I have any problems with Pixmania’s service.
I chose 2-3 days delivery time, so I expect to begin my new life enhanced by a Samsung i8910 ‘Omnia HD’ on Wed 8th July 2009!

I just ordered one. Not really bothered if it’s all in French, I’m sure I can work around that being as I was thinking of ordering a 16GB from Scandinavia.
At £400 it’s a no-brainer really, I can get the Krusell case and a microSD card and still have change from what I would have paid anywhere else.
waspbloke: Please do follow up here or on the PDair cases (Accessories) post – http://www.samsungomniahd.com/2009/05/28/pdair-launches-two-leather-cases-for-i8910-omnia-hd/ – about any suitable sturdy cases you are considering purchasing for your new i8910?
eg This Krusell or any listed below it?

I’ve bit the bullet and ordered one.. i gave them a call to comfirm the item was sim free and instock which they said it was. also asked if it comes with UK adaptor plug as the site french.. said it should but if it does not to call them and they would supply one free of charge.
Fingers cross all goes to plan
Hi just to let everyone know this price has finished now its £459 now.
I have used pixmania many times for mobile phones (as they are released in france generally before uk) in the past never had a problem with them
and just to confirm.. order at 399 price on Monday and the phone was sitting on my desk on Wednesday morning. It was a French phone with a UK adaptor included.
@kazgor
bah! still waiting for mine, ordered on Sunday. DHL tracking has no info, status says Invalid Airwaybill Number
@kazgor – Congratulations on a fast delivery.
@waspbloke – I placed my order early Sunday (see first post). I wasn’t happy to be forced to use my Credit Card because their PayPal process failed to complete! [Redirect OK to PayPal but failed to return to order completing after approving the payment in PayPal.]
1:46 PM – I just now concluded a call to Pixmania’s _French_ order validation number: 3rd attempt after line’s busy earlier. They have unusual(?) ‘fraud protection’ procedures, at least for items greater than certain value they’ll ask for more information.
See and this 2nd email from them:
“We are writing to ask you to confirm your contact details on our site.
This security measure helps to protect customers from possible bank card fraud.
In order to process your order as quickly as possible, please contact us within 24 hours on 0033 / 1 45 01 36 67. Our service is open from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Your order and payment will be automatically cancelled if you do not contact us within this time. Your bank account will not be debited.

Called back to confirm that Order Validation status will take a minimum of 1 hour to be updated. (Thanks “Mark”)
P.S. Sucks/Expensive to make an International Call! If I get my i8910 Omnia HD hardware as brand new fully functional hardware (in a sealed box), then I’ll be a happy buyer regardless of shipment with French manual and/or wall charger. I’ve got 1 too many Wall->MiniUSB chargers already!
Has anyone heard of or used a webstore called All-In-One-Place.co.uk? They seem to be selling the I8910 sim-free for £419 with stock expected in tomorrow? I can’t seem to find any reviews for them – so don’t think I can trust them to buy from. £419 is tempting!
Arrived at 9PM this evening.
Once I got inside the heavily taped-up outer carton, the retail box was slightly crushed on one side so that the “Do not accept if seal is broken” seal was broken! By this time the delivery guy was long gone so I’m just going to hope all is okay. It’s on charge at the mo’. Seems okay, is all French too with an adapter plug for the charger.
Anyhoo…it’s back on offer on pixmania for £409 if anybody else is tempted.
Hi guys, I’m really tempted to buy this phone. However, does it not make no difference that it’s a european(french) model ? Am I right in thinking that only the manual and the charger are effectively different than what we would get if we bought in it the UK ? (all sites I have been to are selling a european-french version)…
Hi I was just thinking..does anyone know if the Samsung i8910 being sold on Play.com is a UK spec phone or is that a French/European spec model?
