FringSteve Litchfield of All About Symbian has listed his top twenty freeware applications for the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD smartphone handset. It’s quite a broad list of freeware apps and well worth checking out.

We haven’t tried all of them so far, the main apps we have used regularly are Google Maps, YouTube, Gmail, Fring and TweetS60. However, we quickly replaced TweetS60 with the paid-for app Gravity, which is a superb twitter application. So, which free apps are you using on your i8910 HD?

I’m kinda enjoying UCWeb for pages with lotsa reading (kinetic scrolling is nice).. Though it is an unofficial version and is otherwise kinda dull. (Can’t remember if I had to sign it or not…. You’ll figure it out) http://forum.ucweb.com/viewthread.php?tid=1890

hey uk786 does Nokia Photo Browser work properly for you? It seems to always crash and also the bigger problem is that the photos dont fill up the thumbnails/screen so theres a mssaive white gap on the bottom and right of the photo?

    Hey guys,

    I’m running the following:

    Opera Mobile 10
    OVI files
    Google Search
    Google Maps
    AccuWeather
    Touch Pop (Game)
    Touch Card (Game)
Angle Meter (as the name sugguest)
    Airport (Game)
    Labyrinth Lite (Game)
    Timer (stop watch)
    Island Quest (Game)
    Meteor (Game)
    Y-Browser

Things like, youtube, facebook, flickr, picasa, lonely planet, funclub etc were already preloaded in the widgets.

Find other phones that share the same OS as the I8910 and try out their software, most of the time it works, sometimes it doesn’t.. I can’t wait for the new fireware update.

Hello everybody,i have been owning an omnia hd since june-09,and i have triec to find some funny apps or programs since then. But havent found shit, the only things that i have found is the things you have been writing here. Youtube, googlemaps, diffrent web hosts, but those i dont count. Because you can have those in every phone there is now. I want to have like music programs, picture programs, more funny stuff like iphone has. I was not sure in wich phone i would buy last summer, but with all the answers in my hand now i know that i bought the wrong one. I did really think that samsung would put some effort to it fixing programs, apps, games, widgets,,,. Witn an mobile such as this one,so expensive so capable of being used as a worktool,i cant find any other way but samsung is really sucking ass with this. The only thing that i am really pleased with is the gps,coz i am travelling between countries alot. Camera i thought would be better, outside the pics is getting great. But indoors, blurry almost all the time if the light is just a bit dimmed. To bad to bad samsung
