Samsung releases (minor) I8910XXII2 Italian firmware update
Posted by soHD in Firmware, News, tags: i8910 HD, XXII2 Firmware
New Italian firmware appeared for the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD yesterday evening. However, before you get too excited it’s only a minor update with the main change being the inclusion of 5.1 speaker audio.
There is still no kinetic scrolling in the browser (Opera Mobile comes in handy here), HD video recording still has dropped frames and the audio here is also unchanged. The free disc space on start-up is 32.9MB. All-in-all a bit disappointing. Let’s hope a bigger update is still on Samsung’s pipeline.
Thanks brett!

I will say the 5.1 over the built-in speakers is nice and it really sounds great! Hopefully some other tweaks are down the road but this update is worth it for media lovers.
Thanks Samsung!

I second that especially If you listen to media thru the built in speakers. Sound is just amazing….you can tell the differece.
Its really worth updating to this firmware.
@ Zachery
If you have Italian firmware already on your phone, just plug it in to PCStudio. If you don’t, follow these steps: http://samsungi8910omnia.com/how-to-flash-and-debrand-your-samsung-i8910-debrand-tutorial/ and use this firmware: http://uploadkeep.com/cg3warx9j0ve/I8910_Generic_Italy_XXII1.rar.html
Then you can update via PCStudio. Make sure you use PCStudio to back up your contacts and stuff, though, ’cause they will be destroyed. After the final update, perform a hard reset (code: *#7370#). Good luck.
I did an update on my samsung omnia hd. I8910XXII2 update, and before, google maps and opera worked perfectly, but since I just updated, I can no longer use the gps or internet because samsung can’t find any access point or is unable to use what it was using before for these functions to work. Anyone encounter this or know what is up?
