Big i8910 HD firmware update in Jan 2010; includes full kinetic scrolling

Now we’re talking, hopefully all of the ranting and petitions regarding the woeful i8910 HD support is starting to pay off. Samsung has officially confirmed that it will be releasing a new firmware update for the handset delivering a “faster, smoother multimedia experience.”
The new firmware will deliver faster web browsing (finally), an improved graphics engine as well as kinetic scrolling. Here’s an excerpt from the press release:
-Webkit update: A faster user-interface when online, for swift navigation of your favourite websites
-Graphic engine: An improved graphic engine, increasing the speed to access the multimedia content
-Kinetic scrolling: The addition of a kinetic scrolling system provides a superior full-touch experience
There’s no mention for proper 24fps HD video recording but we’ll take what we can get right now. The update will be landing in January 2010 via Samsung’s PC Studio 7 software. It will arrive first in the UK and then gradually rolled out to other markets. We’ll bring you our first impressions as soon as it does hit. Until then have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I just hope that this is not another EMPTY Promise!! I bought this phone when it first came out and I am very happy with it, except for the fact; I can’t get any kind of UPDATES for it at all!! Every time I hook mine up to PC Studio 7 for an Update, it tells me that there is NO update for this device, when the software came with the phone. Does that make any sense?
did i read that right? It’ll be hitting the uk FIRST!!!! So does this mean i’ll have to flash my phone back to the uk firmware first? That’ll be handy seeing as i live in the uk and not italy lol
so this sounds like great news and hope its true. Also catch me in the forum for more updates and problems solving. I will also try to get a uk firmware ready for those who need it

I bought this phone from mobile city and I have AT&T, and I am in the U.S. and it works great except for the update thingy.
We need an ARABIC version of this update. It is enough because we have not gotten any update since July of 2009.

The only previous firmware in the UK was the Orange firmware. Do we have to have that installed to get this new firmware & does that mean we get all the Orange crap with it ?.
does this new firmware update have the ACC codec insted of AMR?

there is no update .just costums firmware, samsung will not release any update.

Eh!! Im going back to my Nokia N97. They get more firmware updates than Samsung crap. A couple days ago, new V21 just came out for N97.
